How to Play         Frequently Asked Questions

1. Introduction
Welcome to Furry Fable! This is the game where your favorite fairy tales and legends come to life. This instruction manual will get you started in how to play Furry Fable.

2. Creating an Account
Before you can begin playing Furry Fable, you need to create an account. At the login screen, click the rock at the bottom of the screen to create a new account. A new window will pop up that will ask for your character name, password, Email address and birth date. Then click the Sign Up button. But, you are not quite finished. We will send you an email that will activate your account and provide a choice of the type of chat (Standard Safe or Super Safe) you wish your child to use. Be sure to check your spam folder if you don't see the Email in your In-Box. Once you have read the Email, and clicked the appropriate link within, you are ready to begin! Click the Play Now button to go back to the login screen. Fill in your character name and password, the click the sign to the right of the gate to enter the game. You may upgrade your membership at any time by clicking Upgrade Membership at the top of the screen. An upgraded membership account (only $5.99 per month) changes your character from a Commoner to a Noble, which allows the player to experience all the content Furry Fable has to offer.

3. Beginning the game and Avatar creation
Once you have entered the game, you must choose a server. If you have chosen safe chat, you will see both the safe chat servers and the super safe chat servers. If you chose super safe chat, you will only be able to see those servers. The servers are color coded to let you know the server population, green is fewer and red is many. If a server is full, you will be prompted to click another server. Once you have chosen a server, you will begin to create your avatar.

To create an Avatar, first choose whether you want to be a boy or a girl. You can then choose the face style, eye color, skin color, hair style and hair color. When you are finished, click Done and you will enter the game world. Next, you will see a map of Furry Fable that has a number of icons on it. If the area is available for you to visit, it will glow yellow and give you the name of the area. Click on the icon to travel to that area of the game. Many areas of the map have multiple screens you can visit, so please feel free to explore each area! If you forget what screen you are on, it is displayed at the top left corner of your screen, along with the name of the server you are on. The top right corner displays how many coins you have.

4. Moving around in the game and using the Map
Moving your character around in Furry Fable is easy. Simply click where you want to go and your avatar will move to that spot. If you move your mouse to a position next to the edge of the screen, sometimes an orange arrow will appear. The arrow tells you that you can go that direction to a new screen. There are some places where you cannot walk, such as the sky. If you click on those places, your avatar will not move. To move to a new area of the game, click the Map icon at the bottom of your screen. The map will appear and then simply click on the icon of the area you wish to travel to. To close the map, click the X at the top right corner of the map.

5. Interacting with characters, objects and other players
To interact with object in the game, such as fairy tale characters, shop keepers, doors and other things, just get close to them and click and they will react to you. To enter a building, click on its door to enter. To interact with another player, click on them to bring up their player window which will allow you to add them as a buddy, or visit their home. Once they are a buddy, you will gain more options from this player window to Go where they are by clicking the Go button, send a Private Message, drop them as a buddy, or visit their home. To talk to an NPC (non player character), walk close to him or her and click to open a dialogue box. If the NPC is selling something, you will be shown what is being sold and the price. To buy an item, click on it, select Buy, then choose Yes to confirm. Once an item is purchased it will go into your inventory. Other things an NPC may do when you click on them is to say something in a chat bubble or talk to you about a quest they have. To interact with items you need for quests, just click on the item and it will go into your Quest Journal. More about Inventory and Quests is discussed later.

6. How to Chat
There are three ways to chat with other players in Furry Fable. The first way is to click the Chat Tab near the bottom left of your screen which opens up a number of pre-selected phrases that you can click on. This is the only type of chat available on our Super Safe Chat servers. To close this tab, just click on the top of it and it will drop back down. Another way to chat on the Safe Chat Servers is to click in the field at the bottom left of the screen, type what you want to say, then either hit Enter or click Send. This chat is visible only to those that are on the same screen as you. The final way to chat is limited to those who are your buddies. You can send a Private Message to anyone on your Buddy List. When you or your friends have a Private Message, this icon will show up at the top left of your screen. You can click on the Buddy List to see who sent it to you and click on their name to read. If your buddy is not online when you send your message, they will be notified by that same icon when they return to Furry Fable and can read it then.

7. How to use Emotes
Click the Emotes tab near the bottom left of your screen and a window will appear that gives you many emotes you can use. There are more than you can see, so scroll through them using the arrows on the side of the tab to see them all. Once you decide on an emote to use, click on it, and it will appear over your avatar's head for a few moments. To close the Emotes tab, just click on the top and it will go back down.

8. How to use the Buddy List
Two great things about having buddies is the ability to use the Buddy List to send Private Messages and to teleport to where they are in the game by clicking the Go button on their player window. To view your buddies, click on the Buddy List tab at the top right of your screen and click on a Buddy. Buddies in red are offline while buddies in green are online. To make the Buddy List go back up, just click on the Buddy List tab again. To make someone a buddy, click on them to open the player window, then click Add Buddy. That person will see this icon on the top left of their screen. When they click on it, a window will pop up for them asking them if they want to be your buddy. If they click yes, each of you will show up on the other's Buddy List.

9. Quests
Quests are an enjoyable part of Furry Fable. Not only do they allow you to interact with many legendary characters, but they provide a way to make coins and gain special items and abilities in the game. Many quests are limited to only our Nobles (paid subscribers) and they are very rewarding. If an NPC is giving a quest, you will notice a quest dialogue box open up after clicking on him or her. Sometimes NPCs require you to do certain things (such as complete other quests) before they will give you a quest, so just because an NPC doesn't talk to you one time doesn't mean they don't have something for you later on. When an NPC gives you a quest, you have the option to Accept or Decline. If you decline, you may try again later. After accepting a quest, the quest goes into your Quest Journal. You may access your Quest Journal at any time by clicking on it at the bottom of your screen. The Quest Journal contains all quests you have active and all quests that have been completed. For active quests, the Quest Journal tells you what you need to do and what the reward will be. For completed quests, the Quest Journal tells you what the quest was about, what you did and what your reward was.

10. Shopping
There are many places in Furry Fable where a player can spend their hard-earned coins. Many of the shopping opportunities are limited to Nobles, however. Go to the Town and find Abercrumby and Fur to purchase shirts, pants, skirts and shoes. The Old Armada sells hats and eyewear. Travel to Camelot to find Merlin who will allow you to change into animals for a fee. Go to the Mane & Tail to change your hair style or hair color. To buy something from an NPC, click on them to open up the shop window. It will display your character, the amount of coins you have, and the items that are for sale. Some NPCs are hidden in the game world that will sometimes sell you special items, so be on the lookout for that too.

11. Inventory
Your inventory contains all the items your character has to wear. Click on the Inventory icon at the bottom of your screen to view your inventory. To see what items you have for your head, click Head. For eyewear, click Eyes, and so forth. You can also view Backgrounds on the Inventory Screen which are available for purchase in the game or gained by completing quests. Backgrounds go behind your character on this Inventory Screen and are also viewable by others when they view your player window. To change what item you are wearing, just click the new item. To exit the Inventory Screen, click Return to Game at the lower left. Some items can be removed without replacing them with another item. This is limited to Head and Eyes. Note that if you are an animal, the items for head, eyes and feet will not display until you transform back to human form.

12. Changing into Animals
One thing that makes Furry Fable so unique is the ability for players to turn into a wide variety of cute animals. This ability is limited to our Nobles only. Most of these animals are unlocked by completing various Quests. Once a player has unlocked the ability to change into a certain animal, they must visit Merlin at Camelot to turn into their animal of choice. Different animals cost different amounts of coins. You can only become one animal at a time. If you want to be a different animal, you must visit Merlin again. To transform into an animal and back to a human, just click the icon with the paw at the bottom of your screen.

13. Mini Games
Apart from Quests, mini games are the only way that players earn coins in Furry Fable. All players, Commoner and Nobles alike, are free to play all mini games. Currently, we have 13 different mini games and they are scattered throughout Furry Fable, varying in style and difficulty. Try your best to find them all. To begin a game, click on the icon, item or NPC that begins the game. Each game gives you the option to view the top 50 scores or view instructions before playing. Once a game has been completed, it will display your score and coins earned. If your score was within the top 50 scores for that game, your name and score will display on the Top 50 list. To exit a game, either Click the Exit button at the top left of the game window or the Quit button after your score has been displayed. Note that if you exit a game before it has ended, no score will be saved and no coins will be earned. At times we will reset all scores to allow additional players to get into the Top 50 scores.

14. Player Housing!
All players, Commoners and Nobles, will have player housing. Commoners will have access to a basic player home with no ability to furnish or otherwise customize it. Nobles will have a variety of homes to choose from, which will vary in size and price. In addition, Nobles will be able to fully customize their homes with various types of furniture and other items to really make them one of a kind! Players can visit their own home by clicking the Home icon at the bottom of the screen. To visit a buddy's home, click on the Buddy List, choose your Buddy, and click the Home button on their player window to be instantly transported to their home.

15. Pets (Coming Soon)
The owner at Pets R Us is anxiously awaiting his shipment of pets to sell to our Nobles. This feature is coming soon! There will be many different types of pets for our players to buy and take care of!
